Animation Crit

My animation critique was supposed to be at 215 so I got here at 215 so that I didn't have to sit around and wait. I'm much less confident with my animation work this semester than I was with my film work so I wanted to just come in, get it done, and leave.

Unfortunately, they're over a half hour behind so I've been sitting here almost 35 minutes. It doesn't help my nerves that I'm completely starving also.

Ugh. Let's goooooooooooo

:edit: well, that was pretty painless. Animation professors are so much more laid back than film professors.

They talked me into submitting my cutout animation to the Ottawa Animation Festival, which is one, if not THE biggest animation festivals in the world. So I put my deposit in for that today and I have to come up with the rest of the money (traveling costs, lodging, etc) soon. If I had known I'd be sending this piece out, I would have made it longer.

i saw this on your vimeo page a few days ago... i love it... especially the train :)

the train was actually the worst part to animate because the two wavy lines in the background kept getting snagged on the train so each frame took me literally 5 minutes to set up and when you're shooting 15 frames per second.... it equals a lot of headache. That's actually exactly why I made the train sink toward the end - i didn't feel like moving it all the way across the frame anymore, hahaha.
